Maybe or probably?

Sometimes, we are difficult to understand the difference between "maybe" and "probably", or some of you may think that both of them have the same meaning. Now, i would like to give you explanation as simple as possible about the difference.

MAYBE has the same meaning with PERHAPS, there is no different between them. "Maybe or perhaps" is used when something or someone is uncertain or not sure (40%-60% chance).

Example : The weather is so bad, maybe it will be raining.

Actually we don't know what will happen if the weather is bad, we only guess the possibility, that is raining.

PROBABLY means that there is a good chance of something happening (70%-95% chance).

Example : Tomorrow is my birthday, probably my parents will give me a surprise.

In this sentence we use "probably", it means we do believe that parents will give a surprise, even though the chance is not 100%.

Hopefully, you catch the point 😄

Don't forget to leave your comment, thank u 💌
